The Gay & Lesbian Review / Worldwide (The G&LR) is a bimonthly magazine targeting an educated readership of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) men and women. Under the tagline, “a bimonthly journal of history, culture, and politics,” The G&LR publishes essays in a wide range of disciplines as well as reviews of books, movies, and plays.

The G&LR has partnered with Glad Day Bookshop to offer readers the chance to support the world's oldest surviving LGBTQ bookstore and get some fabulous queer literatrue in the process.

As The Gay & Lesbian Reviewcrosses another milestone — the publication of its 150th issue — we mark the occasion with a book that features some of contributing artist Charles Hefling’s best illustrations of the past decade.
 
These are “casual outings” of writers and artists who lived in times when it was hard or impossible to be “out” in our sense. Their stories are told in excerpts from articles by some of our many illustrious contributors over the past 27 years.
